Superstar Shahrukh Khan, who was busy shooting for Yash Chopra's untitled movie in Kashmir, did not ignore the Eid celebrations. Though this time, Shahrukh was all alone during the festive season, a religious Khan made it a point to celebrate it.
Have a look at the below picture, where Shahrukh is spotted celebrating Eid at the Pangong Lake in Ladakh along with his other team members. While shooting in Kashmir, SRK got nostalgic and remembered his late father, who always wanted to take him for a trip to Kashmir, but that never actually happened. SRK had earlier tweeted, "My father's one unfulfilled wish was to bring me to Kashmir cos his mom was from here. Now I am here, it feels I am in his big strong arms."
That's not the end of it as Shahrukh has learnt some very important lessons of life in Kashmir. He had tweeted, "Learnt life's lesson in my forefathers land. Only beauty is not enuff, u gotta be tough too to survive. I will be, Insha Allah."
"This is the Eid in regard to the holiday of the story of Abraham with his son Ishmael and his order from God to sacrifice his son," said Imam Jamal Diwan with the Islamic Center of Irvine.
According to the Quran, God spared Abraham's son and gave him a ram to sacrifice instead, which Abraham then prepared for a feast. That's what the event revolved around.
"These are days that Prophet Mohammed said are days of festivities and remembrance of God," said Imam Mohammed Faqih of the Islamic Institute of Orange County.
Usually, Eid prayer celebrations aren't on this scale. In the past, it would be up to mosques to organize their own individual events at much smaller venues, like a hall at the Anaheim Convention Center.
