William "Bill" Rancic was born on May 16, 1971, in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from Carl Sandburgh High School. He studied Criminal Justice, in hopes of becoming a lawyer, at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois but ended up graduating from Loyola University with Bachelor of Science degree in 1994.
In spring 2004, Bill was chosen as a candidate on the reality show The Apprentice (Season 1) and became the first contestant to be hired by The Trump Organization. Although Bill claimed he would pursue his own projects after his apprenticeship with Trump ended, he decided to stay and even guest-starred as the show's judge when the seasonal judge George Ross was out of town.
Prior to his participation in The Apprentice, Bill auditioned for The Bachelor (2002) but was turned down. After wining the show, however, Bill sat down for an interview with E! News anchor Giuliana DePandi and it was apparent how well the two got along. He opted not to ask her out in a professional setting but instead waited for her in the parking lot. He later told Us, "and the rest is history."
The two got married in 2007 on the Italian island of Capri, which was documented in a Style Network special and later resulted in their own reality series Giuliana & Bill. For years, the lovebirds tried conceiving but their hopes came to a halt when Giuliana was diagnosed with breast cancer in early 2011. On August 29, 2012, the two welcomed their first baby boy, Edward Duke, via a surrogate. Shortly there after, the couple announced their plans for a second child.
